STANDING COMMITTEE ISSUES CALL TO SPECIAL CONVENTION
The See of the Diocese of Eau Claire being vacant, the Standing Committee has exercised its ecclesiastical authority to call a Special Convention on August 28, 2010, at Christ Church Cathedral, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. By act of this Special Convention the determination will be made to place the Diocese of Eau Claire under the provisional charge and authority of The Right Reverend Edwin M. Leidel, Jr.
An Agreement between the Standing Committee and Bishop Leidel stipulates the Bishop will spend 1/3 time living in and working in the diocese for specific blocks of time. The first block will be August 29 through November 13, 2010.

STEWARDSHIP WORKSHOPS
Earlier this year Grace Church, Rice Lake received a grant to conduct a pilot stewardship program in the Diocese of Eau Claire. The first step in the project was to invite everyone in the diocese to participate in a survey to learn a bit about what we believe and do about stewardship in our congregations. Responses to the survey were used to design a series of two-hour training sessions to be offered in several locations throughout the diocese in late July and August. The hope is that these few questions will help us provide more effective stewardship teaching and programs in the Diocese of Eau Claire. The project is called The Stewardship Co-op.
Terry Parsons, a Candidate for Holy Orders, from the diocese, will be conducting the workshops and brings over fifteen years of stewardship experience to this project.

RIDE, BIKERS, RIDE
July 29 - August 1
John Meacham and others from the Diocese of Eau Claire are planning a Motorcycle Ride Across the Diocese of Eau Claire for the Haiti Project. The goal is to visit every church in the Diocese of Eau Claire in four days from July 29 - August 1 to raise funds for the Haiti Project. We are looking for riders as well as for those who are willing to pledge to the project.
